Pilates Exercise Classes following Caesarean Section

The next course starts from Friday 8th November 2019 at 10am.

Many new mothers are conscious that their tummy muscles and pelvic floor muscles are weak, and look to join classes to help 'strengthen their core'. At Physiofusion we offer professionally taught Postnatal Pilates classes and pelvic floor workshops to help new mums gain the skills and knowledge to exercise with confidence.

 

The exercises in the class are focussed on the most appropriate strategies for repair and recovery, and are not as easy as you may think!
 

For those new mums who have had a Caesarean section we understand that the task of finding an appropriate class and instructor who can take their individual concerns into consideration can feel like an extra challenge when life is already busy with a new baby.

Common issues after a Caesarean Section can include:

  • Wondering if your recovery is 'normal' compared with others.

  • Wondering if it 'normal' to feel aches and pain a few weeks after the surgery.

  • Difficulties with day to day tasks eg lifting the baby in the car seat, or lifting the baby from the ground.

  • Wanting to strenghten your abdominals and to be prepared for a further pregnancy.

  • Fear of causing internal muscle or tissue 'damage' in a general exercise class.

  • Wanting to chat to other new mums who have also had a C Section

At Physiofusion we approach the recovery process with a positive attitude, and our classes aim to help you to regain your self confidence for healthy movement.

You may feel that you can relate to some of the above common concerns- or you may simply wish to start your rehabilitation from the Caesarian Section in an organised and rounded manner in a safe environment with a trained healthcare professional. At Physiofusion we understand this, and in response to client requests, we offer specific Postnatal Pilates classes for Caesarian Section Recovery.

The course instructor Lorraine has herself had three babies delivered by Caesarian Section, and has vast experience of helping clients with tailored Pilates and exercise programmes to restore confidence through movement and strength.

Every client's experience of the birthing process is unique to them. This class offers an opportunity for each individual to optimise their physical wellbeing in a supportive environment with professional guidance and exercise supervision.

There is a maximum of six clients per class to facilitate individual attention.

All equipment including mats are provided. 

Your baby is welcome to join you during the class- either in his car seat/pram or beside you on the mat. Should you need to change or feed your baby we can provide a space in one of our private rooms to do so. It is a very relaxed atmosphere so please don't worry if your baby is a little out of sorts during the class. 

Our next term of C Section Pilates commences on Friday 8th November at 10am. The fee for the 6 week course is €110.
